Inter Milan have offered Norwegian striker John Carew a short-term contract to join the Serie A giants.
The Nerazzurri want Carew to provide cover for Diego Milito until the end of the season.
Milito will not play again this season after undergoing surgery on a serious knee injury sustained during last week's Europa League match against CFR Cluj.
Calcio News believes that Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni has identified the forward as capable of supporting Rodrigo Palacio and Antonio Cassano until May.
The 33-year-old was released by West Ham United last summer and has failed to find a new club since.
Carew has previously played for a string of clubs across Europe including Aston Villa, Lyon, Valencia and Roma.
