Ipswich Town are reportedly hoping to complete the deadline-day signing of Reading striker Dominic Samuel.
The 22-year-old is thought to be on the radar of Tractor Boys manager Mick McCarthy, who is still in the market for a long-term replacement for Daryl Murphy after the frontman left for Newcastle United last summer.
According to the Reading Post, Ipswich are one of six clubs chasing the signature of Samuel, with Brentford and Barnsley also interested.
Asked about the speculation, Royals manager Jaap Stam said: "I think several teams are interested in Dom but we need to make a decision about that. Because if you let somebody go you need to have somebody in as well.
"We know Dominic's quality, he's got ability which can help us out. But he is still a young player and needs to learn a lot, and for him it's very good if he can play week in, week out to develop."
Samuel has made just nine Championship appearances for Reading this term, scoring twice.
