Former Italian international Marco Materazzi believes that Juventus should sign Napoli striker Edison Cavani in the summer rather than Paris Saint-Germain's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It is understood that the Serie A leaders will move for a marquee striker at the end of the season, but Materazzi has insisted that Cavani would be better suited to the Turin club.

"For me, Juventus would become more clinical with Cavani rather than Ibra," the 39-year-old told reporters at a press conference.

"As I see it, Conte places importance on possession while Ibrahimovic is more of a finisher.

"When there are strong characters in the squad, there is not a problem. Maybe you quarrel in the week but at national level he has always done well."

Cavani has scored 23 league goals for Napoli this season.
