Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri still eyeing 40 points

Claudio Ranieri insists that he is looking at the 40-point mark to ensure that Leicester City are safe from relegation, despite the fact that they sit top of the table.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has refused to stray from the goal that he set his side at the start of the season.

Tonight's 2-1 victory over Chelsea at the King Power Stadium has left Ranieri's men top of the Premier League with 35 points to their name.

However, despite seemingly being in contention for the title, Ranieri has insisted that his focus will remain on survival until the Foxes reach the 40-point mark.

"I told my players, five more points and we are safe. I think like this I put that target at the beginning of the season. When we achieve 40 points, we will change our goal," the Italian told Sky Sports News.

"It's magical time we must continue to work hard because I don't want to wake up. I want to continue to dream with our fans."

On Saturday Ranieri will take his side to Goodison Park to take on Everton.
