Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri: 'I would never rule out coaching Italy'

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri admits that he would one day consider coaching Italy.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has admitted that he would "never" rule out one day coaching Italy.

Italian Football Federation president Carlo Tavecchio recently hinted that Ranieri is on their radar to replace Antonio Conte, who will take charge of Chelsea after Euro 2016.

Ranieri guided Leicester to the Premier League crown this season, which is the club's first ever top-flight title in their 132-year history.

The Italian has had experience coaching a national team after a short spell with Greece, and has not ruled out jumping back into a similar job.

"I'll admit I was curious about coaching a national team, but my experience with Greece was sufficient," Ranieri told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Of course, leading Italy would be something else. I'd never rule that out, and I'd like that very much. And Leicester, after all, have blue shirts just like the Azzurri."

Ranieri replaced Nigel Pearson at Leicester last summer.
