Joe Allen: 'I want to show Liverpool what I can do'

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen insists that he wants to show what he is capable of as he tries to cement a regular starting spot at Anfield.

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has insisted that he wants to prove his worth on the pitch.

The Wales international is slowly working his way back into manager Brendan Rodgers's first team following a number of injury woes.

"The manager has just told me to be ready for when my opportunity comes and to get back to my best," Allen told the club's official website. "That will come with game time. Nothing has changed really.

"But everything comes together with playing time, so I'm looking to getting a string of games and showing what I can do."

Allen was named in the starting lineup for wins over Norwich City and West Ham United last week.
