Fabio Borini happy with Liverpool stay

Fabio Borini insists that he is pleased to have remained with Liverpool following the summer transfer window.

Fabio Borini has insisted that he is pleased to still be with Liverpool following the summer transfer window.

The Italian striker, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland, had been heavily linked with a move to Queens Park Rangers.

Despite Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers recently claiming that it would benefit Borini to find a new club, the 23-year-old is happy to have stayed at Anfield.

He tweeted: "Finally the madness is finished! I protected the MAN and the player that I am today...taking all the responsibility of the situation and for people who didn't want it. And I'm VERY happy with myself to have taken such an important decision."

Borini scored 10 goals in 40 appearances for Sunderland last season.
