Philippe Coutinho aiming to improve Liverpool goalscoring record

Philippe Coutinho insists that adding a "greater intensity" to his game will help him adapt to the demands of Premier League football.

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has admitted that he is still trying to fully adapt to the demands of Premier League football.

The Brazilian ace was recently voted the Reds' Player of the Year on the back of a stellar personal campaign that saw him contribute 14 goals in all competitions.

Coutinho insists that there is still plenty of room for improvement, however, particularly when it comes to finding the net himself on a more regular basis.

"You always strive for consistency," he is quoted as saying by The Express. "The game here in England is more intense both with the ball and without the ball.

"I have been trying to adapt so that I can play that kind of game and have a greater intensity about my work. [Goalscoring] is something I am working on in every training session.

"That element of my game has improved but my objective is to try to increase those numbers again and I will be aiming to next season."

Former Brazil international Ronaldinho recently suggested that Barcelona should make an approach for Coutinho this summer.
