Rio Ferdinand: 'Jurgen Klopp will give Liverpool players belief'

Rio Ferdinand believes that new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will give his players belief.

Rio Ferdinand has claimed that new manager Jurgen Klopp will give his Liverpool players the belief that they have recently been lacking.

The German coach, who joined Liverpool earlier this month following a seven-year spell at Borussia Dortmund, has guided the team to one win in four games in all competitions.

Ferdinand has revealed that his former Manchester United teammate Shinji Kagawa gave him some insight into Klopp's management from when the pair were together at Dortmund.

"[Klopp] brings a belief, confidence and a warmth," Ferdinand told BT Sport. "I remember Kagawa [told me that] he looked at him like a father figure, but he tells you off, he screams at you, but when you do well he rewards you and I think players really respond to that in today's age."

Klopp has overseen two Premier League games, both of which ended in draws.
