Roberto Firmino: 'I joined Liverpool to fight for titles'

Roberto Firmino reveals that he picked Liverpool as his next club because he wants to "fight for titles".

Roberto Firmino has revealed that he chose to sign for Liverpool to give himself a better chance of winning titles.

The Brazilian will finalise his move to the Reds from Hoffenheim after he undergoes a medical once the Copa America in Chile comes to an end.

The 23-year-old, who has agreed a five-year deal, is believed to have cost Liverpool an initial £22m fee, which is expected to rise to around £29m.

The attacking midfielder never won a major trophy during his four-year spell at the German club, but is hopeful that he can claim some silverware at Anfield.

"It is time to leave Hoffenheim for a bigger club to fight for titles, but for now I am concentrated on the Copa," Kicker quotes Firmino as saying.

The Brazilian is the fourth player to be signed by Liverpool so far this summer following the arrivals of James Milner, Danny Ings and goalkeeper Adam Bogdan.
