Jordan Henderson believes that he has become a better player since Brendan Rodgers became Liverpool manager in the summer.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has insisted that he has improved as a player since Brendan Rodgers took charge of the club.

The former Sunderland player made 48 appearances for the Reds under the management of Kenny Dalglish last season. In contrast, Rodgers has opted to use the 22-year-old sparingly.

However, Henderson has revealed that the time he has spent on the bench has made him even more determined to improve his game.

"It's nice to be back playing more regularly. I've been working hard and trying to improve my game since the manager came in," he told the club's official website.

"He has helped me do that and told me what I need to work on, and I feel as though I've done that. I'm still improving but I was delighted to get a start [against Swansea] and I think I played some good stuff as well."

Henderson has made six Premier League appearances so far this campaign.
