Brendan Rodgers: 'Raheem Sterling must stabilise his life'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers calls on winger Raheem Sterling to "stabilise his life" after finding himself involved in three court cases within a year.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that winger Raheem Sterling will only recapture his best form once he has a "clear mind".

Sterling has found himself involved in three court cases during the past 12 months, and Rodgers has encouraged the 18-year-old to "stabilise his life" so that he can fulfil his potential at Anfield.

The 40-year-old told The Telegraph: "He needs to have a clear mind in everything in his life. We mustn't forget that he is 18.

"He needs to stabilise his life, understand the remarkable opportunity that he has at one of the biggest clubs in the world and focus on everything in his career.

"Once he does that and he is clear in his mind, he has no distraction and we can get to the level of performance of the first four or five months of last year."

The England international has scored once in six matches for Liverpool this season.
