Pablo Zabaleta to return against Liverpool?

A report says that Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta may recover from a hamstring injury in time to face Liverpool on Boxing Day.

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has reportedly made a swifter than expected recovery from a hamstring injury.

The Argentine sustained the problem earlier this month and it was anticipated that he would not return to action until January.

However, the 28-year-old took part in training with his teammates today and providing that he does not suffer a setback, he could be included in the squad to face Liverpool on Boxing Day, according to Goal.com.

In Zabaleta's absence, Gael Clichy has deputised in the right-back position.
