Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas remains open to Nabil Fekir Liverpool move

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas suggests that he is still open to doing business with Liverpool for the services of Nabil Fekir.

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has suggested that he is once again prepared to do business with Liverpool for the services of Nabil Fekir.

The France international was close to joining the Reds in a £60m deal last month, only for the move to break down as the Reds reportedly wanted to renegotiate his fee.

Following the failed deal, Fekir linked up with the France squad for the 2018 World Cup and is expected to be on the bench for the final on Sunday afternoon against Croatia.

"It seems to me that Liverpool could come back in," he said in an interview with Le 10 Sport. "That's what I've read in the press, but I've not been told anything.

"His transfer failed in June, but he hasn't been affected by it. He is focused on the World Cup, and he still has his heart in Lyon.

"Nabil is much closer to Lyon today than he was when we talked to Liverpool. Maybe he will go to Liverpool, or another club, but if he stays at Lyon, it will be a great year for him and for us."

Fekir, who is also believed to be on the radar of Real Madrid, made 40 appearances for Lyon last season, scoring 23 goals and registering eight assists.
