Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly planning to make a fresh bid for Swansea City defender Ben Davies.
The Reds are said to have had a fee of £8m turned down for the Wales international, while Tottenham Hotspur were reported to have agreed a £10m deal in principle for the left-back.
Rodgers is now prepared to up his offer for Davies - a player he knows well from his time in charge of Swansea City - in order to strengthen his defence, according to the Daily Star.
The report claims that the Merseyside club were hoping to land Sevilla's Alberto Moreno, only for talks to break down over the past few days, meaning that Davies is now their top priority.
Liverpool kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Brondby last night.
