Liverpool have reportedly been handed a major boost in their efforts to sign Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.
The 21-year-old secured a high-profile switch from Brazilian giants Corinthians to the City Ground during the summer transfer window of 2023.
Initially under the stewardship of Steve Cooper, Murillo quickly established himself as a starter for Forest, often the only constant in an ever-changing back three.
The centre-back started 32 Premier League matches for the Tricky Trees, and despite failing to find the net in the top flight, he did manage two assists.
As he continues to develop and blossom into a top-tier defender, Murillo will no doubt be targeting a place in the Brazil national team in the future.

Liverpool handed boost in Murillo pursuit?
According to Football Insider, Liverpool have been given a major leg up in their pursuit of Nottingham Forest man Murillo ahead of the new campaign.
The report claims that the Tricky Trees are under serious pressure to raise funds before the end of the month to navigate their tricky financial situation.
It is believed that Nuno Espirito Santo's side need to pocket at least £20m from player sales this month in order to avoid breaching Profit and Sustainability rules.
Always keen on making plenty of transfers since their arrival back in the Premier League in 2022, Forest are always on the edge of breaking financial rules.
Therefore, a high-profile sale could be imminent for the Tricky Trees, who might be waving goodbye to the likes of Murillo and Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the new season.

Liverpool 'face competition' for Murillo
Despite Forest having the fourth-poorest defensive record in the Premier League during 2023-24, Murillo really caught the eye with his assured displays at the back for the East Midlands side.
Therefore, plenty of potential suitors are monitoring the Tricky Trees' financial situation this summer, with a chance to poach their star players for reduced transfer fees.
It was reported earlier this month that Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a move for Murillo, who could have his pick of Premier League heavyweights to sign for.
Despite having a solid centre-back pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven - as well as Radu Dragusin in reserve - the Lilywhites are continuing to scour the market for defensive reinforcements.
