Jerome Boateng gunning for Manchester City

Former Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng insists that Bayern Munich intend to secure all three points when the two sides meet on Wednesday evening.

Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has insisted that the German side intend to secure all three points when they travel to Manchester City on Wednesday evening.

The former City right-back returns to the Etihad after an unhappy year in England which included a training ground altercation with Mario Balotelli.

Bayern have already qualified for the latter stages but Boateng has stated that they will not make it easy for City.

"We are coming here to get the points. We want to play a good game. There is no extra motivation for me because you want to win every game," said Boateng.

"We approach this the same as any other. My dispute with Mario was nothing serious, it happens at every club. It was a short tussle, then we shook hands. You hear a lot of stories about him but I like him as a person."

City must beat Bayern and hope that Napoli drop points against Villarreal in order to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
