Manchester City's Manuel Pellegrini vows not to underestimate Dynamo Kiev

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says that his team must not underestimate Dynamo Kiev in Wednesday's Champions League clash.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has urged his players not to take Wednesday's Champions League opponents Dynamo Kiev lightly.

The two-time Premier League champions have never progressed further than the last-16 stage, but are favourites to reach the quarter-finals ahead of this week's first leg in Ukraine.

Pellegrini has experience being an underdog in Europe due to his three-year spell at Malaga.

"If we think that it will be easy then, for sure, we will be eliminated," The Mirror quotes Pellegrini as saying. "I will always put up the example of Malaga.

"Everyone wanted to play us because they thought it would be easy, but we beat some good teams. The performance and the result is the important thing, not the team we are playing. We must play a very good game if we want to qualify."

City head into the game on the back of three consecutive defeats in all competitions.
