Belgium captain Vincent Kompany to miss Iceland friendly

Belgium captain Vincent Kompany is to miss his country's upcoming friendly against Iceland due to a calf injury.

Belgium captain Vincent Kompany has been ruled out of the team's upcoming friendly against Iceland due to a calf injury.

The defender missed club Manchester City's 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers on Saturday with the problem.

However, Kompany is expected to be back in action for his country this weekend when they host Wales in a Euro 2016 qualifier.

Belgium entertain Iceland in a friendly on Wednesday before taking on Wales four days later.
