Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reveals that he is "happy" for the hearing into the 115 charges against the club for alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play rules.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that he is "happy" that a hearing into Manchester City's 115 charges for alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play rules will begin on Monday.

Last year, the Premier League charged Man City with 115 breaches of its financial rules between 2009 and 2018.

The Premier League champions have denied all charges, insisting that their defence is backed by a "comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence".

While Guardiola is currently focused on matters on the pitch, he was asked about the hearing ahead of Saturday's home meeting with Brentford.

Guardiola 'happy' for hearing to start

The Man City boss said that he is glad the hearing will start on Monday and will welcome the final decision when it is made.

"It starts soon and hopefully finishes soon," Guardiola told reporters. "An independent panel will decide and I am looking forward to the decision.

"I'm happy it's starting on Monday. I know there will be more rumours, new specialists about the sentences. We're going to see. I know what people are looking forward to, what they expect, I know, what I read for many, many years. Everybody is innocent until guilt is proven. So we'll see."

The hearing is reportedly set to run for around 10 weeks with a final verdict and any subsequent appeal expected before the end of the season.

La Liga president makes claim over Man City hearing

While the hearing is yet to start, La Liga president Javier Tebas believes that most Premier League sides want to see Man City punished.

"I have spoken with many Premier League clubs and most of them understand that City should be sanctioned," Tebas told reporters.

The La Liga president added: "They were once acquitted by the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) for a formal matter."

From Guardiola's perspective, his current priority will be on Saturday's home clash against Brentford, with the hosts looking to maintain their perfect start to the season.

The Citizens began the defence of their Premier League title with three consecutive victories over Chelsea, Ipswich Town and West Ham United.
