Manchester City to unveil new badge at Sunderland game on Boxing Day

Manchester City will unveil their new crest to be used from next season onwards at the Premier League match against Sunderland on Boxing Day.

Manchester City have announced that they will unveil their new club crest before the Premier League home match against Sunderland on Boxing Day.

The club said last month that a new badge would be designed in time for next season and it will be revealed on Saturday.

Kevin Parker, general secretary of the official supporters' club, told City's website: "There are not many clubs that would seek fans' views on such a central issue and there are even fewer, if any, that would then commit to respond so faithfully to the feedback received.

"I can't wait for this badge to be revealed and for it to become a cherished symbol in the next phase of our evolution."

Clues around the city have suggested that the new badge will feature a round design, like feeder clubs New York City FC and Melbourne City, and could look something like the mock-up below.
