Manuel Pellegrini hails seven-goal Manchester City

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini praises his side's attacking mentality following their 7-0 thumping of Norwich City.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has lavished praise on his players following their 7-0 demolition of Norwich City.

The Chilean hailed his side's attacking mentality and insisted that they could have won the match by a greater margin.

"We were very unhappy when we lost against Chelsea, but we didn't deserve to lose that match, we dominated possession, so we continued playing the same way, we won against Newcastle in the Cup in midweek and I thought today we had a really good match," he told BBC Sport.

"Norwich did not have a chance to score, we scored seven and could have scored more. It was a very good game, we played really well. We moved the ball quickly and we were always pressing.

"We didn't try to defend the score, the team played the same for the 90 minutes. Now we have to recover points we have lost away. We need to continue trying to win every game."

City lie in fourth place in the Premier League following the result, three points off the top spot.
