Richard Wright could reportedly stay at Manchester City as a goalkeeping coach for the academy.
The 38-year-old announced his retirement from playing on Tuesday after four years at the Etihad Stadium.
Wright struggled for game time given that he was third choice behind Joe Hart and Willy Caballero, but City are believed to be keen to keep hold of him in a different capacity.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the club have noticed the work that Wright has done for his fellow goalkeepers behind the scenes and are considering offering him an academy coaching position.
Pep Guardiola will take over the first team this summer.
