Bayern Munich's Thiago Alcantara rubbishes rumours he will join Manchester City

Thiago Alcantara rejects rumours that he will leave Bayern Munich and join Manchester City with manager Pep Guardiola.

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has rejected rumours that he will follow his manager Pep Guardiola to Manchester City this summer.

There are expected to be new arrivals at the Etihad Stadium when Guardiola replaces Manuel Pellegrini as manager at the end of the season.

Alcantara has been one of those players linked with a switch to the Premier League, but the former Manchester United target intends to stay with the Bundesliga giants.

"There are always a lot of rumours. It's a fact that Guardiola is joining Manchester City and we have to respect that, but there is no truth in the rumours saying I will follow him," Alcantara told Bild.

The 24-year-old joined Bayern from Barcelona in 2013.
