AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri says that Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be staying at the San Siro this summer.

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has told Manchester City that Thiago Silva is not for sale.

The Citizens are reportedly interested in the Brazilian centre-back, who is rated as one of the best defenders playing in Europe.

According to The Mirror, the City boss made a social visit to Rossoneri president Adriano Galliani and is believed to have asked about the 27-year-old's availability.

However, Allegri has now moved to tell Roberto Mancini that the 27-year-old will not be leaving the San Siro.

The Italian also refuted claims linking Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a move away from the club.

"The club and the president are keen to maintain AC Milan at a high level," Allegri told the club's TV station. "Ibrahimovic and Thiago will remain here.

"Thiago is young and Ibrahimovic can also give a lot. They are two champions on which Milan can build its basis for the future. The club is only working on replacing those players that have left."

Silva arrived in Milan for a reported fee of £9.5m from Brazilian side Fluminense in 2008.
