Klaus Allofs: 'Kevin De Bruyne unlikely to join Manchester City'

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs claims that Kevin De Bruyne's potential move to Manchester City is unlikely to happen this season.

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has claimed that Kevin De Bruyne is unlikely to join Manchester City this season.

Reports had suggested that City were on the verge of signing the Belgian international midfielder for nearly £59m.

However, Allofs has now revealed that a deal is far from done despite De Bruyne's desire to join the Premier League club.

"There's no agreement with Manchester City," he told reporters. "Right now, Kevin is a Wolfsburg player. If they do not meet our expectations, Kevin will remain a Wolfsburg player for this season. We are negotiating and we know that Kevin wants to join Manchester City."

De Bruyne joined Wolfsburg from Chelsea in January 2014 for £18m.
