West Bromwich Albion head coach Steve Clarke reveals that talks are ongoing with Manchester City over a potential deal for winger Scott Sinclair.

West Bromwich Albion head coach Steve Clarke has admitted that he is unsure whether the club are close to signing Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair.

Clarke revealed last weekend that he wanted to sign the 24-year-old, but the former Liverpool assistant has revealed that he does not know how far talks have progressed.

The 49-year-old told reporters: "I know that there was initial contact between the clubs and I know that there has been continued contact between the clubs.

"Beyond that, I don't know if we are close to a deal or if we are far away from a deal.

"There are still talks ongoing at this moment in time."

Sinclair made just 14 appearances, mostly from the bench, for Manchester City last season.
