Crystal Palace are reportedly monitoring the progress of Hearts full-back Aaron Hickey with a view to a possible move when the transfer window reopens.
The 17-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Tynecastle, making 30 appearances across all competitions to firmly establish himself as a first-team regular.
However, Hickey's contract at Hearts is due to expire next summer, and the Daily Mail reports that the club may be forced to cash in on him this year rather than risk losing him on a free transfer.
Hearts were one of the first clubs to impose a wage cut on their players as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and are understood to be struggling financially due to the suspension of football.
Manchester City, Everton, Southampton and Celtic have also been linked with Hickey, but Palace are thought to be leading the race for his signature.
The teenager has played all across the back four this season, but his primary position is left-back.
