Joe Hart 'to stay at Manchester City, despite facing fall to third choice'

Goalkeeper Joe Hart has reportedly chosen to stay at Manchester City, despite the likelihood of dropping to third in the pecking order.

Joe Hart has reportedly opted to stay at Manchester City, despite the likelihood that he will drop to third-choice goalkeeper under manager Pep Guardiola.

The England international had his number one spot taken from him by Wilfredo Caballero, who has started all three of City's official games this season.

In addition, Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is reportedly on the verge of joining City.

Everton were thought to be keen on sealing Hart on loan, but it is believed that the Merseyside outfit have withdrawn their interest due to the overall cost of the deal.

According to The Guardian, Hart is keeping his options open, but is prepared to wait until the January window to leave City because he does not deem the offers that he has received so far suitable.

The shot-stopper is aware that his decision to remain at City could affect his England place following Sam Allardyce's comments that even though Hart will be included in the squad for next month's internationals, his position as number one could be taken if he is not playing regularly.
