Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is reportedly close to signing a new deal with the club.
The defender, who has two years left on his current contract, is expected to sign fresh terms in the coming weeks that would double his pay and keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2016, according to Goal.com.
The Belgian could now join the second bracket of earners at the club with a wage of £130,000-per-week.
The centre-back is though to have put off informal talks over the summer so that he could concentrate on City's title charge.
The Premier League leaders signed Kompany from Hamburg in 2008 for £6m.
