Defender Nicolas Otamendi will reportedly remain at Manchester City for the upcoming campaign.
Otamendi has spent the last four seasons at the Etihad Stadium, making a total of 112 appearances in the Premier League and helping City to two top-flight crowns.
Having only played a bit-part role over the 12 months, however, it was expected that the centre-back would be allowed to move elsewhere before the end of the transfer window.
That stance has now changed, according to The Sun, with several Spanish clubs having failed to follow up their initial interest in the 31-year-old.
City have also, so far, failed to bring in a replacement for Vincent Kompany after the club captain returned to Anderlecht to become player-manager.
The Argentina international still has three years remaining on his contract.
