Rodri allegedly asks to leave Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window amid speculation of interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Midfielder Rodri has reportedly told Atletico Madrid that he wishes to leave the club this summer.

Rodri has just reached the end of his first campaign at Wanda Metropolitano, making a total of 42 appearances in La Liga and the Champions League.

However, a £62.5m release clause in his contract has left Atletico vulnerable to interest as clubs take note of the player's current ability and potential.

Manchester City and Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with the 22-year-old, which Sky Sports News claims has resulted in the player formally requesting an exit from Atletico.

The La Liga runners-up will now wait for an official bid to be made for a player who cost them just £22m last summer.
