West Ham United have reportedly entered negotiations to sign former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.
Toure is available on a free transfer this summer after leaving City at the end of his contract, although his wages are thought to be a stumbling block as he earned £220,000 a week at the Etihad Stadium - despite the 35-year-old's agent recently claiming that he would be willing to join a top-six club for just £1 a week.
The Daily Mail reports that West Ham are still hopeful of completing a deal for the Ivorian, who is keen on a reunion with new Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini.
Toure enjoyed arguably his best years under Pellegrini at City, including scoring 24 goals during the 2013-14 campaign as the club won the Premier League and League Cup double.
Toure courted controversy earlier this week when he suggested that Pep Guardiola was discriminatory against players of African descent, having made just one Premier League start last season.
