Jose Mourinho may be awarded a winner's medal if Manchester United go all the way and lift the Champions League trophy this season, despite being sacked midway through the campaign.
The Portuguese was dismissed a week before Christmas following the Red Devils' worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign.
Mourinho did guide United through the group stage of the Champions League, however, with a famous away win at Juventus setting up a last-16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain.
United were given little hope of winning that tie, even more so after losing the first leg 2-0 at Old Trafford, but interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer masterminded an incredible 3-1 victory in the return match earlier this week.
The Red Devils are now just two rounds away from reaching the final, and The Sun reports that, should they win June's final in Madrid, ex-boss Mourinho will be in line for a medal.
UEFA will award the winning side 40 gold medals and Mourinho, it is claimed, is among the 15 non-squad members that will be rewarded as a show of faith.
