Team News: Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand start for Manchester United

Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand both return to the Manchester United starting lineup for tonight's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich.

Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand have both returned to the Manchester United starting lineup for tonight's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.

Manager David Moyes has made a total of six changes after seeing his side beat Aston Villa 4-1 on Saturday as Antonio Valencia, Danny Welbeck, Alexander Buttner and Danny Welbeck are all given the nod.

Rafael da Silva has failed to recover from a thigh problem so Phil Jones will play at right-back. Javier Hernandez, Nani, Shinji Kagawa and Adnan Januzaj are all named among the substitutes.

Meanwhile, Bayern coach Pep Guardiola has made six changes to his starting XI following last weekend's 3-3 draw with Hoffenheim as Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Arjen Robben, Javi Martinez, Thomas Muller and David Alaba all come back in.

Mario Gotze and Mario Mandzukic both have to settle for a place on the bench for the Germans.

Man Utd: De Gea; Jones, Ferdinand, Vidic, Buttner; Valencia, Carrick, Fellaini, Giggs, Rooney; Welbeck
Subs: Lindegaard, Hernandez, Nani, Young, Fletcher, Januzaj, Kagawa

Bayern: Neuer; Rafinha, Martinez, Boateng, Alaba; Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Ribery, Kroos, Robben; Muller
