Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes pips Manchester City defender Ruben Dias to be named the Premier League Player of the Season in the Sports Mole Reader Awards.

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has pipped Manchester City defender Ruben Dias to the Premier League Player of the Season crown in the annual Sports Mole Reader Awards.

Fernandes scored 18 goals and created 12 more in 37 Premier League appearances this season, helping Man United to finish second in the table.

Only Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane directly contributed to more league goals in 2020-21, and the Spurs man rounds off the top three.

Fernandes won 36.2% of the votes, while FWA Footballer of the Year winner Dias earned 21.5% and Kane was voted as the player of the season by 15.3% of our readers.

Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah also made the top five with 7.9% of the votes apiece, while Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez finished joint sixth with 4.5%.
