Anthony Martial will sit out France's friendly clash against Cameroon tomorrow evening.
The Manchester United striker picked up a thigh complaint during a recent training session that has not healed sufficiently in time for him to feature in Nantes.
However, head coach Didier Deschamps has stressed that the 20-year-old will be ready for his country's opening match of Euro 2016 on June 10.
"Martial has pain in his thigh. He finished the season late," the French boss told reporters.
"I will not take any risks tomorrow and it is likely that he will not participate in the match.
"There is no doubt about Martial's participation in the Euros. His thigh problem is muscular fatigue."
Martial is yet to score from any of his eight outings at senior international level.
