Manchester United assistant coach Mike Phelan has said that Patrice Evra will play against Liverpool in Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at Anfield if he is fit.
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was recently handed an eight-match ban for making alleged racist remarks at the Frenchman during a match in October.
There had been speculation that Evra would be left out of the side for this weekend's match due to the possible adverse reaction he would get from some supporters at Anfield.
"It wouldn't be a consideration," Phelan told BBC Sport when asked if Evra could rested for the encounter.
"Patrice Evra is a football player who plays for Manchester United. If he is fit, he is considered to play like any other player.
"What has happened has happened. What has been said has been said. You are talking about a football match now and I think it will be a very good FA Cup tie."
United ran out 1-0 winners when the two side last met in the FA Cup in January 2011.
