Seemingly a perennial member of the injury table, Bailly once again received a severe blow during a pre-season match with Tottenham Hotspur in Shanghai, with the Ivorian suffering a meniscus injury which required surgery. It was confirmed soon after that the defender would miss five months of action.

The Frenchman played an instrumental role for United throughout pre-season but missed last week's meeting with AC Milan due to suffering a back spasm in training. Solskjaer has since stated that he expects him to recover in time for Chelsea.

Sanchez missed the end of last season with a hamstring injury but recovered in time to star for Chile in the Copa America over the summer.
