Manchester United have revealed that Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez both took part in a full training session with the Red Devils on Wednesday, with the pair close to making their returns from injuries.
Casemiro has only played once since the start of October, with the Brazil captain picking up two separate injuries this season, and his latest issue - related to his hamstring - has kept him out since November 1.
Martinez, meanwhile, has not featured for the Red Devils since September 20, with the Argentina international being forced to undergo a second foot operation of the year.
The Argentina international underwent an operation in April to fix the fractured metatarsal that he suffered while facing Sevilla in the Europa League, and he was back for the start of pre-season training, but problems in the same area earlier this season led to him needing more surgery.

However, the 2022 World Cup winner recently provided a positive update on his recovery, and Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag has said that Martinez will be back at some stage in January.
Ten Hag also revealed last month that Casemiro was due back this month, with the pair potentially being available for the Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on January 14.
"Manchester United duo Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez have returned to full training at Carrington, as they step up their recoveries from respective injuries this season," read a statement on Man United's official website.
"The South American duo have been training individually alongside medical staff in recent months and all their hard work – and patience – is close to paying off.
"Casemiro and Martinez trained on the grass with the full squad on Wednesday, signifying they are edging ever closer to being back in action."

Casemiro's future has recently been the subject of speculation, but it is understood that he will not be allowed to leave Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
The Red Devils are set to be further boosted this month, with Tyrell Malacia, Harry Maguire, Mason Mount and Victor Lindelof also due to return.
Meanwhile, Luke Shaw could be back for the FA Cup third-round clash with Wigan Athletic on Monday, with the defender missing his side's last two matches due to an unspecified issue.
Despite Man United's disappointing form this season, head coach Ten Hag is expected to be given the next few weeks to oversee a change of fortunes with a stronger squad.
