Louis van Gaal: 'Robin van Persie to face Swansea City'

Louis van Gaal confirms that Manchester United striker Robin van Persie will return from injury to face Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that striker Robin van Persie will be available for Saturday's trip to Swansea City.

Injury caused the Dutch hitman to miss Monday night's 3-1 win at Preston North End in the FA Cup, but Van Gaal says that the talisman will be present in South Wales.

He told the club's official website: "Yes, [van Persie] shall be fit."

Scott Laird had fired Preston into a 1-0 lead on 48 minutes at Deepdale, but goals from Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney helped set up a quarter-final visit of Arsenal.

Van Persie has scored 10 times in 23 Premier League appearances this season.
