England boss Roy Hodgson says that he's lucky to have so many players from Manchester United at his disposal.

England boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that he's lucky to have several players in his squad who come from Manchester United.

Seven players from the Red Devils have been included in the former West Bromwich Albion manager's latest Three Lions squad for their World Cup qualifying games against San Marino and Montenegro.

He told reporters: "I'm fortunate that there are a lot of English players at Manchester United, the country's top team. I profit from that and take advantage by selecting them.

"On a personal level, I've not had any issues [with Sir Alex Ferguson]. But when taking players from club teams, you have to be aware that you are borrowing other people's property because the players are paid by the clubs, not England."

England face San Marino next Friday in the first of their upcoming qualifying games.
