How has Unai Emery resolved Aston Villa's injury issues for Sunday's Premier League fixture against Manchester United?

Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery has been forced to make two changes to his midfield for Sunday's Premier League fixture against Manchester United.

Earlier this week, the West Midlands outfit recorded a famous 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

However, the win came at a cost with Jacob Ramsey, Amadou Onana and Leon Bailey all being withdrawn through injuries before the start of the final quarter.

At a press conference on Friday, Emery indicated that Onana - who had suffered a hamstring issue - was most likely of the trio to feature at Villa Park.

Instead, both the Belgium international and Ramsey have been ruled out of the clash with the Red Devils, with Bailey being brought into the team for the latter having initially replaced him versus Bayern.

Ross Barkley is the other player to be brought into the midfield, with the Englishman in line to team up with Youri Tielemans.

There is a further alteration with Matty Cash, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, being brought in for Diego Carlos, allowing Ezri Konsa to move back into the centre of defence.

How do Man United line up?

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag has showed his unhappiness with Man United's recent defending by dropping each of Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.

The pair have been in the middle of the backline when three goals have been conceded against each of Tottenham Hotspur and Porto during the last week.

However, it is Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans who surprisingly get the nod for this contest, Rasmus Hojlund also starting ahead of Joshua Zirkzee.

Kobbie Mainoo is also able to return after missing the Porto game, but Manuel Ugarte is left on the substitutes' bench for the second game in succession.

Alejandro Garnacho starts ahead of Amad Diallo, with Marcus Rashford retaining his place having been rested for the second half in Portugal.
