Louis van Gaal responds to reports he will leave Manchester United in summer

Louis van Gaal responds to reports that he could leave Manchester United at the end of the season.

Louis van Gaal claimed on Friday that he does 'not have to answer' questions regarding reports that he will leave his position as Manchester United manager at the end of the season.

The Dutchman's contract does not expire until the end of the 2016-17 campaign, but there have been rumours about his future due to the inconsistency of United's season.

The Red Devils went nine games without picking up a win, but more recently are unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions.

Earlier this week it was reported that Van Gaal, who arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2014, is considering walking away from his position at the end of the season.

When asked about the speculation by reporters, Van Gaal said: "I don't think that the press have to help me with my decisions. First they have sacked me. Now they are interfering with my future. I don't have to answer."

Meanwhile, the club have denied claims that officials recently held talks in Paris with Pep Guardiola, who will leave his position as Bayern Munich boss in the summer.
