Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku insists that he feels no extra pressure in big games, despite receiving criticism for his performance against Liverpool.

Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku has said that he remains "relaxed" about the responsibility of scoring for the Premier League giants against their direct rivals.

Lukaku was largely ineffective during United's goalless draw at Liverpool on Saturday, leading to suggestions that the Belgian must improve in order to increase his contribution against teams challenging for the top-flight crown.

However, Lukaku has no fears over his performances, and says that scoring against Real Madrid in August's European Super Cup final eased any nerves heading into higher-profile matches.

The 24-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "That was the game when everyone was looking at me thinking 'will he do it?'. That game freed me from everything.

"A lot of strikers miss bigger chances than me but with me it is always, 'Rom did this, Rom did that'. That is the standard I've set myself. It is something that happens in football and I am relaxed about it."

Lukaku has netted 11 goals in his first 11 games for United since joining from Everton during the summer.
