Louis van Gaal 'has three games to save his job at Manchester United'

Louis van Gaal reportedly has three games to save his job as Manchester United manager.

Louis van Gaal's fate as Manchester United manager is reportedly dependent on the outcome of his next three games in charge.

The Dutchman's job has already been rumoured to be up for grabs, with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho widely touted as his replacement.

However, Van Gaal currently remains in charge at Old Trafford and his contract does not expire until the end of the 2016-17 season.

United failed to get past the group stage in the Champions League this season and they face an uphill struggle to qualify for next season's tournament as the team are six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the club's hierarchy will make a decision regarding Van Gaal's future depending on results from Monday's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Shrewsbury Town, Thursday's return leg against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League last 32 and their Premier League clash against Arsenal next weekend.

Reports emerged on Friday evening claiming that a number of senior players in the squad have lost faith with Van Gaal.
