Manchester United are due to open a new medical centre next month, which aims to prevent long-term injuries to the club's players.
The former Premier League champions had an injury-ravaged campaign last year and recorded 39 cases during their season.
"This is a big signing, probably the most important step forward this club has taken in a long, long time," The Express quotes Ferguson as saying. "Sometimes maybe the supporters don't see that but we'll see the benefits and the players will appreciate it."
The centre has been developed with the help of Toshiba, who will be providing the equipment.
