Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has demanded that he never be compared to five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Lukaku's £97.5m return to Chelsea and Ronaldo's switch back to Manchester United dominated the talk of the English transfer window this summer, and talk over a potential golden boot challenge has now emerged.
Lukaku has already got off the mark in Chelsea colours as Ronaldo prepares for his second Man United debut, but the Belgian forward has insisted that he cannot be compared with his counterpart given what he has achieved in the game.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Lukaku said: "Don't ever compare me to Cristiano Ronaldo, never. Cristiano Ronaldo is, for me, in the top three best players in the history of football.
"I'm not going to rank him from first to third but he's in there. What he has achieved in football today for players of my generation is something exceptional."
Ronaldo trained with Man United for the first time on Tuesday, meaning that his second debut for the club could come in Saturday's Premier League showdown with Newcastle United.
