Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that he is hoping to sign players this summer who provide "balance" within his team.
The North-West outfit have been heavily tipped to spend big money in this window, with top talent including Gareth Bale and Harry Kane being rumoured targets.
United have already agreed to sign 21-year-old Dutch winger Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven for a fee in the region of £25m.
When asked about his summer transfer targets, Van Gaal told reporters: "It's dependable of the balance of our selection next year, that this year is still not [the case] and we have to do that. It's not so easy, believe me. I go more for the balance than the individual player."
United have all but secured Champions League football as they are fourth in the table, six points above fifth-placed Liverpool with two games left to play.
