Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has said that he is "satisfied" with the punishment handed out to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan was found guilty this week of making racially abusive remarks to United defender Patrice Evra.
"Our support of Patrice was obvious right from the word go, and that's still the same," Ferguson said.
"The matter is over and I think we're satisfied they've found the right decision."
The Scot was quick to play down the potential for further animosity between the clubs, who are noted for their fierce rivalry.
"It's not about Manchester United and Liverpool. It's an individual situation where a person was racially abused," he said.
"It doesn't take a lot to remind everyone this is the biggest derby game in the country, up until the present anyway.
"It's never needed anything to light the powder keg, it's always there."
Suarez was handed an eight-game ban and a £40,000 fine for the incident.
